Another way to access the files inside a RAR archive is to double click onВ it andВ it will open upВ like a folder, from here youвЂ™ll be able to drag the files straight out of the archive. The menu layout might be slightly different on your system to the one shown in the image.

The quickest way to check which version of Kontakt you are using is to click on the Kontakt logo at the top left of KontaktвЂ™s window.

Developers almost always state the version of Kontakt required for their librariesВ and itвЂ™s important to check that you have the right one before you make a purchase. To use aВ third-party library (a library that has not been encoded by Native Instruments) youВ mustВ be usingВ the version of Kontakt that the library was created in orВ newerВ вЂ“ Kontakt is not forwards compatible. Most sample libraries you buy from third-party developers, including Xtant Audio, have not been encoded by Native Instruments and therefore wonвЂ™t appear in thisВ tabВ nor can they be installed by clicking the вЂњAdd LibraryвЂќ button.

Only sample libraries that have been sent by the libraryвЂ™s developer to Native Instruments for encoding show up hereВ and they work not only in the full version of Kontakt but also in the free Kontakt Player.
